With the available MAX Trailering Pack, Extended Cab models can tow 10,700 lbs. and Crew Cab models can pull 10,600 lbs.2 The strong 9.5-inch rear axle with 3.73 axle ratio and disc brakes are there to help you handle the larger loads. The Vortec 6.2L V8 engine comes with 403 horsepower and 417 lb.-ft. of torque. All that power is complemented by a solid payload capability: 1,937 lbs.3 for Crew Cab and 1,908 lbs. for Extended Cab models with the available MAX Trailering Pack. These trucks will also include GM segment-exclusive automatic locking rear differential providing added grip when you need it, whether it’s pulling a trailer for a weekend family trip or hauling materials in between worksites.
Tow/Haul Mode enhances performance while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature modifies the automatic transmission shift schedule and helps reduce throttle pedal activity by the driver while traveling over rolling terrain. Useful for when you’re hauling heavy loads, Trailer Sway Control senses when a trailer starts to sway and automatically applies the truck’s brakes while reducing engine power. When necessary, this feature works to help get your truck back on track.
Auto grade braking automatically downshifts the 6-speed automatic transmission to help slow the truck and preserve brake pads on long, steep descents. An available trailer brake controller is fully integrated with the antilock brake system (ABS). If you’re stopped on inclines greater than 5%, Hill Start Assist automatically kicks in to keep the truck in place for about a second to give you just enough time to accelerate before the truck can roll backward.
A hydroformed fully boxed front frame section allows for fewer welds which provides immense overall strength and durability. The rear frame is also fully boxed back to the spare tire crossmember, where it becomes C-channel configuration. This design boosts payload capacity without adding unnecessary mass.
The available VortecTM 5.3L V8 offers an impressive combination of 315 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque and 15 MPG city, 22 MPG highway4 when running on gasoline. Every Silverado 1500 non-hybrid V8 engine can operate on E855. This mostly renewable fuel is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, which helps to reduce our dependence on petroleum.

The StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System works in conjunction with Trailer Sway Control1 to help you keep your vehicle —and your trailer —on the path being steered by sensing a loss of lateral traction and responding by adjusting the engine output andbrakes accordingly.
StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System helps you keep on the road and stay in control. The control module compares your steering input with the vehicle’s actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual applications to help you keep on track. Tire Pressure Monitor keeps a constant watch on the inflation level of the vehicle's four road tires. Hill Start Assist automatically engages to hold the truck stationary for about a second after the brake is released, giving you time to accelerate before the truck can roll backward. Trailer Sway Control senses trailer sway and automatically applies the truck’s brakes to help reduce sway and help maintain control.
Six air bags12 are standard in Silverado 1500: driver and right-frontal passenger dual-stage frontal air bags; head-curtain side-impact air bags for the front and rear outboard seating positions; and front seat-mounted air bags for thorax and pelvic protection. With the 2013 Silverado Hybrid15, the phrase “fuel-efficient full-size pickup truck” is no longer a contradiction. Whether it’s road trips with your family or tackling your own personal workload, it’s the truck that’s there to help you finish the job with the fuel economy that works hard for you without having to sacrifice.
Silverado Hybrid offers an EPA-estimated 20 MPG city and 23 highway, giving you the fuel economy that lets you get the job done. Our available Duramax® Diesel has impressive torque, horsepower and towing numbers. The heavy-duty Allison® 6-speed transmission harnesses the power of the available Duramax.
